Hello! In this roundup of Client Side Mods of the Week, we will be looking at some Minecraft mods that will make playing the game much better. Unfortunately, I didn’t get around to posting Client Side Mods of the Week last week, so I will be showcasing 10 mods instead of 5 this week.

Fabric Installation

If you already know how to install Fabric, you can proceed to the next section. If you don’t know how to install Fabric, however, there’s no need to worry, as it is quite a simple installation process, and you can learn how to do so in my installation guide. These mods are for 1.19, but they may have versions for older versions of Minecraft.

Advanced NBT Tooltips

Advanced NBT Tooltips add advanced tooltips when you hover over items. These include the CustomModelData value of an item, the RepairCost property, the number of bees in beehives, the position of the Lodestone on a Lodestone compass, properties that are hidden with the HideFlags Property, the number of pages of a book, information about modified spawn eggs, and even the command of command blocks. You can see the tooltip when looking at a dropped item, or when hovering over an item in an inventory.

AntiGhost

If you have ever been in a server with an unstable network connection or when you are experiencing lag, you may have had “ghost blocks.” Ghost blocks are blocks that appear to not exist to the client (and therefore to you) but exist on the server itself. This can also be triggered by the expiration of the haste effect with network instability or high latency, where the effect has expired on the server, the client doesn’t know this yet, and it thinks it’s breaking the blocks at the haste speed when it’s not. Without this mod, you’d have to log out of the server and log in again, but this mod saves you the trouble by allowing you to press a key (the G key) or type /ghost into chat to make the client request a resend of all nearby blocks.

Light Overlay

If you’ve ever been concerned about the light level of an area and wanted to make sure no mobs can spawn, you’re not alone. Of course, you might already be aware that the F3 menu can already show light levels, but wouldn’t it be more convenient if you could just see the light levels without walking around on each block? Fortunately, there’s a mod for that.

Light Overlay shows the light levels on blocks, with two different modes. The first mode shows a yellow cross on blocks where mobs can spawn at night, with a red cross showing where mobs can spawn at any time. The second mode shows specific numbers on blocks that show the light level of that block, with the number being red if mobs can spawn on that block and green if they cannot.

Monsters in the Closet

On the topic of mob spawning, this mod will highlight the mobs that are interfering with your sleep when you get the message, “You may not rest now, there are monsters nearby.” The mobs are highlighted for three seconds. Need I say more?

BetterF3

BetterF3 provides a better F3 menu, featuring more technical details, better organization, and color coding to easily find what you need. It gives you what the vanilla F3 menu has, along with technical details like packets sent/received, your GPU driver, OpenGL version, loaded chunks, client chunk cache, whether or not chunk culling is enabled, and more. It even has a nice slide animation.

Precise Block Placing

If you have ever flew along blocks in creative mode while holding right click to place more blocks, you probably noticed that there were gaps left behind. This can be quite inconvenient for some circumstances. This may have also happened if you ran across farmland and held right click on it to try to place plants. Precise Block Placing solves this issue by placing every block.

Replanter

This mod adds the ability to quickly replant crops by right clicking on fully grown crops while holding seeds to harvest and replant it. This mod seems to work with Precise Block Placing to rapidly replant crops.

Map Saver

Map Saver lets you save a map as an image to your computer by holding shift and clicking it (when it is in an item frame).

Sign Tools

Sign Tools lets you copy and paste signs, as well as cut, copy, paste, and move individual lines up or down. It’s an awesome mod to have.

Stendhal

Stendhal adds a plethora of features to books, including importing, exporting, copying, pasting, clearing content, removing pages, colors, formatting, and more, on top of a bunch of unicode symbols that can be used for the text in signs and chat.
