New Rocky Linux 9 Install – WiFi Doesn’t Work
The WiFi doesn’t work on a Dell Latitude 7400 laptop with a new Rocky Linux install. The WiFi chipset is the Intel 9560 and it uses Intel WiFi. The systemctl
command shows that the radio has been killed so you try running nmcli radio wifi on
but the WiFi still doesn’t connect. You get the following error: “Error: Connection activation failed: No suitable device found for this connection (device lo not available because profile is not compatible with device (connection type is not “loopback”)).”
Solution
- Run nmcli radio wifi on
- Press and hold the power button of the computer or machine instead of running the reboot command.
- Now the WiFi might work when you turn the WiFi back on.
You can also try using the nmtui
command to configure your network via a Terminal User Interface.
